St John of God Subiaco Hospital

With more than 1,200 of WA’s most experienced and respected medical specialists, 2,200 caregivers and 600 beds, our hospital plays a vital role in delivering private health care across the state.  We are renowned for safe, high-quality and values driven care, and combining clinical excellence with compassion, hope and dignity.  We provide a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services, including cancer care, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, gynaecology, maternity, orthopaedics, pain services, and urology.

About the role

Join our dedicated team in our specialised Orthopaedic Surgical Ward at St John of God Subiaco!

This is an exciting opportunity for Enrolled and Registered Nurses to develop their clinical skills while delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to patients undergoing elective orthopaedic procedures, including joint replacement, bone and spinal surgery. You will play an important role in supporting patients throughout their surgical journey, from pre-operative preparation through to post-operative recovery, promoting best practice in wound care, pain management and early mobilisation.

Working collaboratively with surgeons, physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals, you will contribute to positive patient outcomes through compassionate care, effective communication and teamwork. You will also have opportunities to strengthen your clinical knowledge, uphold professional standards, participate in quality improvement initiatives and support a culture of continuous learning and excellence. If you are passionate about orthopaedic nursing, committed to delivering exceptional patient care and eager to grow your skills in a supportive, specialised environment, we encourage you to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients.

The successful applicant will hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as an Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse, with recent orthopaedic nursing experience essential and neurosurgical nursing experience highly regarded. A strong commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and enhancing patient satisfaction is required, along with well-developed interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills. The role requires the ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team, supported by a commitment to ongoing education, learning and professional development.

Above all, patients will be at the core of everything you do committing to and supporting our Mission and Values.
