Description:

Position Purpose:

At Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, the Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) delivers patient care to individuals in critical condition.

What You Will Do:

  • Assume responsibility for Critical Care Patients, conducting assessments, devising care plans, and adjusting critical drips to ensure hemodynamic stability and appropriate sedation levels.
  • Attend to patients requiring advanced monitoring, heightened observation, utilization of invasive equipment, and administration of intricate medication regimens.
  • Operate within an acclaimed 22-bed Level 1 Trauma Facility unit, contributing to a burgeoning ECMO Program.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing is required
  • Valid RN license in Connecticut      
  • Ideal candidates will have one or more years of Cardiac ICU nursing experience. Experience with ECMO is a plus.    

Preferred:

  • BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
  • ACLS certification, support available for certification post-hire.

Important Consideration

This role is not designed for new graduates or those seeking training for Cardiac Intensive Care nursing. Candidates must be able to function independently in the Cardiac ICU, and their resumes must demonstrate expertise in ICU-level patient care, as well as familiarity with open-heart procedures. Strength with ECMO is a plus.

Position Highlights:

  • Full-Time: 36 hrs/week – Evening Shift. 11:00 am to 11:00 pm
  • Rotating weekends and holidays

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly Staff RN position; pay range: $36.15 – $59.95/hour
    • Pay is based on working RN experience only. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
  • Unit-based specialty pay is available for experienced nurses with one or more years of RN experience
