Job Description

Shriners Children’s is seeking a full-time Pediatric Orthopedic Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our team in Portland.

This provider will deliver comprehensive care to pediatric orthopedic patients across both inpatient and outpatient settings, offering a well-rounded and rewarding clinical practice. Responsibilities include evaluating and managing patients throughout the continuum of care, including pre-operative, post-operative, and non-operative treatment for a broad range of conditions such as fractures, scoliosis, sports injuries, neuromuscular disorders, and developmental conditions. The APP will perform procedures including casting, splinting, and fracture management while working closely with orthopedic surgeons, nurses, therapists, and other multidisciplinary team members to provide exceptional patient-centered care.

This position offers a unique blend of clinic and inpatient responsibilities, allowing the provider to develop meaningful relationships with patients and families while participating in all aspects of orthopedic care. The schedule consists of four 10-hour daytime shifts per week, with no routine nights, weekends, or call responsibilities, supporting an excellent work-life balance.

In the outpatient setting, the APP will run independent clinics across fracture clinic, general orthopedics, spine clinic, and multidisciplinary clinics. While clinics are generally managed independently, an orthopedic surgeon is assigned for consult support. Clinics will be in the Portland metro area including both our Portland and Vancouver locations.

The inpatient component includes daily rounds, discharges, laboratory follow-up, and consultation with specialty services, with support from the orthopedic and hospitalist teams.

The pay range for this position is $152,921.60 – $229,403.20. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.
