Clinical Duties

  • Perform venepuncture and blood specimen collection.
  • Administer medications and injections as prescribed.
  • Perform wound dressing and basic nursing procedures.
  • Monitor patients' condition and escalate any abnormalities promptly.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of nursing care and procedures in the electronic medical records.

Clinic Operations

  • Assist doctors during consultations and provide nursing support in consultation rooms.
  • Prepare patients for consultation, examination, and procedures.
  • Chaperone patients during examinations when required.
  • Ensure consultation rooms are adequately stocked and equipped.

Procedural Support

  • Assist doctors in outpatient procedures, including:
    • Colposcopy
    • Urogynaecology procedures
    • Hysteroscopy
  • Prepare instruments, equipment, and consumables required for procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control measures.

Care Coordination and Patient Support

  • Provide patient education and counselling according to clinic protocols.
  • Facilitate urgent financial counselling referrals when required.
  • Coordinate appointments, investigations, and follow-up plans with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Assist in addressing patient enquiries and concerns.

Operational Support

  • Troubleshoot and manage day-to-day operational issues within the clinic.
  • Escalate operational concerns to Assistant Nurse Clinician or Nurse Manager or when necessary.
  • Support smooth patient flow and clinic efficiency.
  • Assist in managing clinic resources, supplies, and equipment.

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
  • Support audit preparations and ensure compliance with departmental SOPs.
  • Assist in incident reporting and follow-up when required.

Shift Responsibilities

  • Participate in rostered opening and closing duties of the clinic.
  • Perform end-of-day checks on equipment, medication, and clinic readiness.
  • Ensure proper handover of outstanding issues, if needed.
  • Support cross-coverage within the Women's Clinic when required

Professional Development

  • Participate in departmental meetings, roll calls, and training programmes.
  • Maintain nursing competencies and mandatory certifications.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
