**Location Detail:** Backus Hospital (10309)

**Shift Detail:** 7:00am-7:30pm rotating weekends and holidays

JOB SUMMARY - LDRP

Demonstrates clinical competence through utilization of the nursing process and development of a synergistic nurse-patient relationship. Assesses and identifies patient problems/needs, establishes a plan of care, implements and evaluates care provided to patients.

#### Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - LDRP

**Education:** Graduate of a school of nursing. BSN or MSN preferred.

**Experience:** One (1) year RN experience and/or successful completion of The William W. Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program. Two (2) or more years experience in this specific clinical area preferred.

**License and Certification:**

- Current unrestricted License in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 90 days of hire.
- Completion of basic fetal monitoring class by the end of orientation. Electronic Fetal Monitoring National certification (NCC) within two (2) years of hire.
- Ability to obtain and maintain department specific certifications.
- Registered Nurse Core Certification (RNC or RN-BC) preferred.
