## Job description

**SUMMARY:**

Provides comprehensive, team-based care to patients admitted to the Rhode Island Hospital Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU).

**PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**

Responsibilities:

- Provide comprehensive, team-based care to patients admitted to the Rhode Island Hospital Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU).
- Responsible for admission H & Ps, daily progress notes, orders, procedures (and all matters of direct patient care).
- Works under the direct supervision of the attending physicians from the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, as well as the Critical Care Fellows and Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellows from RIH and TMH, while on duty in the MICU and PCCSM consults including critical care triage.
- Work along with interns or residents from the Brown University Internal Medicine Residency Program to coordinate care.
- Responsible for ensuring good communication with patient’s primary care team/provider throughout our services.
- Work within and be responsible to the Division Director, Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives as determined by the Division Director of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine.
- Other duties as assigned by Division Director.

**EDUCATION:**

- Graduation from an accredited NP/PA program

**LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:**

- RI licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

**EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:**

- Critical Care experience a plus.
- Experience with EMR (Epic) preferred.

None

**Pay Range:**

$127,504.00-$161,782.40
